I gave something like 300(US) for mine with 2 new chains. I'm not sure what that comes out to in CAD.

Considering the fact by the time you get a beater for cheap and fixing it is going to cost you about 300 bucks, one running 044 for 300 bucks sounds good to me only if it runs good.

No one here can tell you what it's worth to you. If you think you'll get $300 use or satisfaction out of it, and if he want's the $300 more than the saw, then it's worth it. Price is a subjective thing--makes no sense asking other people what it's worth to you.
