Look here - I put a 68DL 1/2 inch Oregon 31C3 chain on an 395xp with 28" blade -
looks and feels much better that the measly 92DL 3/8 chain the saw came with :) :

I assume you changed out spocket drive too. I didn't from Husky listed for this saw just the 3/8 and .404 sizes. Where did you find the spocket drive?

Yeah - it is a no sprocket (completely) solid nose bar - otherwise
there would have been problems yes - in fact neither this (or ot-
her) 1/2-inch chains are easy to find anymore, nor their corresp-
onding required sprockets, even at a premium cost/charge ... .
And you cannot go by "fitting tables" but have to sort of know a
little yourself about what fits on what ... .

Ahaa - I see - Sorry - big Huskies do not have sprocket drums but loose
sprocket rims (also called "the professional system" I belive) with a so
called SD7 mount (one of a few standard fittings that occur) - so what
one have to do is to find a 1/2 inch SD7 sprocket rim (with 7 tooth as
anymore tooths would be too much ...) to replace the 3/8 SD7 (7 tooth)
sprocket rim the saw comes with - see here - 3/8 to the left and 1/2 to
the right:

Well, that remains to be determined :) !

I have had the stuff lying since last season and got it together
just before dark (in Sweden which is several hours before dark
in US) today ... the new 395xp saw was badly wrong carbura-
tor adjusted so I had to adjust it to get it to start up properly
- after which it was totally black outside ... .

But I plan to cut down a deacent sized oaktree tomorrow - and
then I can check how it works - not to fell the tree but to cut it
to peaces after felling - I could consider shorter bar or bigger
saw (3120), but this is what I started with ... .
