13/64 chain - 7/32 file

Running a stihl chain that calls for a 13/64 file. Is there any harm in using a 7/32 file ?

I use 7/32 files on my 3/8 stihl chains all the time. I'm not sure that I have any 13/64 files?

Been hand filing since 1973, started using Stihlsaws in the 1980s. Back then Carlton chains were the most bang for the buck and I had plenty of 7/32 files.

The Stihl chains didn't seem to care. I'm using all Stihl chains now. Others may beg to differ?

I use a 7/32 on all my 3/8" chain until it is filed back about 1/2 way then switch to a 13/64

13/64 just adds a little more hook than 7/32, that's about it, both work perfectly fine.
