Pretty cool, they trimmed and dressed up the root ball and let it set for two months to heal before transplanting it. Pretty technical lift.

How do they keep the tree alive during that time?

I missed the program but we had to move 30 (10"-12") small Shumard Oaks while a building/drainage project was going on. It was the height of summer so we set them in holes and irrigated them. They remained there for 8months and now they are doing fine except for a couple that died.

I know with large tree removal they trench, burlap, and leave them for a while to see how they fair prior to re-planting. Mainly due to the massive costs involved in relocating them.

A company called En**********l Design have this process locked down.
