does it have a new pull cord? didn't think they had elasto start back in 94

That's one thing I didn't notice, the PO must of put a new pull cord in it.

That was a Steal of a deal. I sold one last month to a very good friend of a friend for $400 with a 25" 325 bar and worn down extra loop. It was not that clean but had a new top cover and handlebar on it.

Big Dave sold Stihls? Cool... I thought he was an old Dolmar man...Small world... Damn, that was alot of money for an 044 in 1994 dollars.

Even up when they quit making them they were 680ish new... So 15 years later the price didn't go up...

I bought about the same saw, very used for $350, thought I did alright, got a month out of it and the piston and cylinder went on it. $470 for the repair and it is still old and ugly. You did good. Those saws are going for closer to $850-$900 new now.
