I got this Mercury Kiekhaefer KA211 months ago.
As you can see was missing parts. So the hunt for parts
began. It took awhile and five different saw guys later
I got all the parts.

One of the last parts I got was the trans.
It was leaking oil out the rear seal.
So I took it apart. Went and got new bearings and seal for it.

Here is the ring and pinion gears.
14 tooth on the pinion and 49 tooth on the ring.
This is 3 1/2 :1 gear ratio

The oil pump is hooked to that large ring and runs
off a cam lobe on the ring gear shaft.

Put the pinion gear back in and the bearing.
Screwed the washer plate that holds the bearing in.

Now the other half,
This cover holds the ring gear.

Put the Bearing in and screwed the washer plate on.

Pressed in the the ring gear shaft in. It went in easy.

Put the clip on the other side to hold it in place.
I made a gasket for it but did not take a pic of it.

Cliff,
I find your color combo to be unusual, but not ugly or negative. What were your thoughts in choosing these? I'm actually considering red and gold for mine.

Joe,

Your Dolmar is top notch:msp_smile: The idle is dead on and as good as it gets. I just wish I would see one of those a few hundred miles south of you.
