Nice setup

Dan, wow that thing has everything but the kitchen sink !!!

I like the vice, maybe you want to sharpen a saw. The tool box, unlimited use, can never have enough tools. The covered box, (w/ Master padlock) for keeping saws etc. Towable, so you can go to a buddies and get his 'free' wood. etc. etc..

When we cut and split we just open the gate and drive through the field. But if I had to go somewhere, your setup would be tops !!! Great Job !!

mmmmmmmm
short hoses to increase cycle time.....
i have to input my wee bit......
the oil in a short hose, and the oil in along hose has the exact same pressure etc.......the oil does not care if it has to go 5 feet back to tank, or 2 feet
hose length will not do anything with cycle time...............

john

The length of the hose does not affect pressure but it does affect flow due to friction. Friction also causes heat. Each 90 degree elbow can equal 2 feet of hose. Yes it may affect cycle time on a log splitter but it probably won't be enough to notice. It may be noticed more in heat build-up.

Iam gettin old,.Butt know how 2 get the leading edge,...Wanna Race,...

Cabinman , if you think your getting to old to race. I know I'm to old to race.
Nowadays I work on figuring how to get from point A to point B with the least amount of effort.

I have surgery in feb to replace 1 knee, 2nd as soon as heeling permits, The race thing is in my blood, But high speed is not allways the target,..FLOW is always the top priority, Flow means speed,..and getting from point A to B is all about flow,...LOLOLOLLOLOL, Keep workin, Its the best medicine you can take, when the worn out parts quit,.. replace em,.

tripster, yes i agree.....
however, the reply i done was in relation to hose length/cycle time...
i do agree with cabinman, each 45 or 90 will have an effect........
way back, when i looked after underground hydraulic jumbos, i made sure that any hose i had to change, i made as big a loop in it that i could..
the cycle time did not change, but, i had more oil in the system, and the heat factor, was improved.
all this equated to less pump changes etc..........

Wanna RACE

I have joked in the past , wanna race,. Most people over look the big picture, I mean, every fitting,.. every inch of hose, etc,. matters in the flow calculator, If you spend a few more dollors, and spec your componets correctly, every body wins, the engine, the pump, the valve, and cycle times, Its like mowing your lawn,..If you mow with dull blades, every body suffers, the engine, the belts, the bearings, the fuel economy,..AND the grass looks shabby, IF you sharpen the blades, every body wins, Because you improved the flow,..Think about it,
