It will probably be at best 6 months before Meteor starts selling that piston.......if they do at all. We should all send them emails telling them that we support their production. The 395 piston will work.......but there is machine work to do. The base must be cut.......then the case under the carb much be relieved. The lower bolt holes on the muffler will need to be slotted too. Nothing too serious though. Oh.......Shaun Carr turned me onto this idea........he is the man.
A side benefit to using the 395 piston would be a higher primary compression ratio since you're lowering everything.
Tried a new plug?So.... In the meantime I am trying to get the 285 running, it has spark, is getting fuel, but the damn thing won't start. I just don't get it, Ive tried making it run with gas down the carb and everything. Is the spark blowing out? Or is the timing adjusted wrong? Any help is appreciated.
Yes I have tried new plugs, a few chineese, a few champions, no luck. It sparks when the plug is out, but won't run with it in.Tried a new plug?
Good compression, 150~psi, what is the process for adjusting timing on these?
