Hello all,

Having read a lot on this forum I feel that I now want to try
some testing and tuning. I have a Husky 262XP. It has been
a fantastic saw that I have used for many years now and it has
never let me down.

Still, you always want more and more and if something goes wrong, it
has earned me the money I spent on it and I can buy a 372....

Is it recommended to do a muffler mod on a 262? Even though I have
read many threads here I still don't know really how to do it. I haven't
seen any specific 262 mod threads either. Any ideas on tuning this saw?

Regards, Peter

Maybe this tread could be a place to start?

Anyway, I don't think that the 262xp will respond as well as some newer saws to simple muffler mods, as it probably weren't so choked down to start with.
I am no expert though, and could very well be wrong.....:biggrinbounce2:

I think Gypo did experience a power gain when he did the muffler on his 262xp .

You're probably right, I just don't think the gain will be as large as on some newer saws.

Why not try to bump the linked tread, and see if he responds.....
