I bought a 288 and it had very low compression so i bought a good 2nd hand cylinder and piston for it. the compression went like it was a brand new saw, the first 10 minutes of running time it was good then it dropped to almost zero compression. i have checked all the obvious reasons, cylinder bolts, spark plug ect.

I still don't no what is wrong with it so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Pull the muffler off and check your piston,....for scoring.
