Hi is anyone familiar with a 353 detroit? if so how do you change the direction of the motor I have heard you change the cam, end for end and change the oil pump ,rockerarms then set the gov up to 2850 rpms also change the starter then drop it in the skidder ???? any info would be great thanks skun :confused:
 
I checked with 1 of the local shops and they told me you have to flip everything the book makes it sound easy.And they said once they got started it was more than they expeted. But it can be done.Hope this helps and good luck. Tony
 
I get the general idea of what you want to do, but WHY? I cant quite figure this out in my mind.
 
maybe he wants the blower on the other side of the block for clearance reasons. I think it's possible to install the cylinder head on them end for end too.

It reverses the rotation of the engine.
