.375 x .050 for 084 Stihl

Would .375 x .050 chain be too light for an 084 Stihl? My Brother-inlaw was near Cutter's Choice, so I got him to pick up a new bar and chain in .375, (I was told .375 would cut faster). The bar is a GB Pro Top and does say 084/88 on the box. I'm guessing GB makes a .063 bar. Would it help to get .063 or is the .050 strong enough. Thanks!

I think you will be just fine. I am assuming the sprocket will be no problem (that is, you have a 3/8ths sprocketor can get one)

It will be fine on a shorter bar. On a long bar, 28" or over, I would go .063 or the chain may stretch too much.

Dont bother with .058, its the same strength as .050
