A friend of mine has a stock Homelite 1050 he says will flat smoke my 395xp.
My 395xp is ported, timing advance, muffler modded. I don't think his saw can take mine, but I know nothing about the 1050.

So what do you guys think? Should I be worried?

Does anyone have a picture of a 1050?

100cc breathing through 4 reeds spinning at 6000 RPM is how I would describe a 1050. If your saw is all that you say it is it should not be a contest. I own both and while I enjoy the 1050s the 395 is literally decades ahead in capability. I would guess that is why there are no longer a lot of threads about race modifying 1050s. Good luck.

Is this a JOKE.

Put some money on it.

1050 aint go a chance

A lot of money has been won and lost with thoughts like that over the years. Never trust an old guy with a worked up saw.

His version of "stock" might not be what other folks would consider stock.

If its all same/same across the board, you should have him. Either way, it would be a fun way to spend a couple hours.

These post or more or less than what I was thinking.
This is the same guy who once told me that his John Deere 110 would out pull my Economy 1416.
I couldn't convince him other wise. Anyone who knows these garden tractors will know the Economy is twice the size and weight.
Nothing wrong with the JD 110, it's a pulling machine. I've own and love one.
But it's not the machine the Economy is for sure.

A Stock 372XP will smoke a 1050

Johncinco, Your absolutely right.
A lot of money has changed hands with
betting against the odds.
But i have a lot of 100cc saws including 2
Husky 2100CD's and find i very hard to
believe that an old technology 1050 could
win against a newer technology 395XP both
in stock form.
But it would be a fun way to kill some time
watching this race.

Regards Lee

tread carefuly with "old technology"

put it this way, the 3120 has not changed anything significant for 20 years....

some of the old chainsaws work reallllly well

+1

I have never ran a 372, but I have a jred 2165 & it wont touch my 1050

SXL 925 with a 20" & 8T sprocket & the rakers set to about 0.35 will eat my 2165 Its not by much, but it will do it.

I am not sure I would make that jump. That is a pretty good leap

Bill
