I can't remember what I paid for the 562xp I had. The Ms400 I got for a hair over 800 this past spring. Is the 562xp that much cheaper?

Wow! I stand corrected. The 562 in my area are 850 ish
The way guys talk about the new 400c Stihl, you should be able to practically drive around the neighborhood on trash day and take your pick of the 562xp's that guys have dropped at the curb.
I wouldn't say that at all. The 562 is a damn good saw performance wise. However, the 400 to me feels like it does have a bit more jam.
The 400 does have a muffler with no internal baffles so its easy to mod unlike the 562 which is a pain in the azz.
The 562 does have a better stock oiler than the 400.
The 400 price has went up since I got mine too. I haven't priced one out lately.
562 is one of husky’s best saws. As others have said, it runs with the 70s all day long.
I know, I'm just kiddin'.
Honestly is nice to have both companies building good saws in the 60cc range. Stihls precious attempts at the 60cc class were not so hot.

I paid $40 for my 562xp with a brand new 24" husqy bar & chain, at a stihl dealer. Needed a brake handle. How much is a 400c?

I’m know….. sorry! It was a tough decision. It was a newer X-torque saw, and the 562 just cut so good I quit using it. When I needed more saw I went for a 90.Can you say things like that here!?!?!?

(Stihl) dealer guy told me it was blown up. I figured I've spent $40 on dumber things. Took it home, put gas in it, fired right up. Been cutting trees with it ever since. Kinda weird really.
PS I would trade it for a 372.

I have a 555 with a 562 top end (which is similar). Every time I use that saw I am shocked at how much power it has and how well/quick it revs. It screams. Not to mention it uses way less fuel than the 576.
So yes, the 562 is a fantastic choice.
