660 crank specs.

Can anyone tell me what the specs are for the big end of 660 crank/rod bearing, or how to check if it is in good condition??

Zero up and down play. Side to side play is normal.

Thanks, I am doing a rebuild and I noticed a lot of side to side play and it looked like it was intensional but I wanted a second opinion.

does anyone pack these bearings in high load synthetic grease upon re-assembly? or do I sound like the newbie that I am...ha ha

:agree2: On 0 up down and some side to side is normal.

Another thing to watch for is blueing or discoloration indicating the rod end was getting hot.

No need to mess with grease, the bearings are lubed by mix oil. Anything you put on them would be washed away in minutes just adding to carbon deposits.
