7900 for Milling

Thinking about getting a smaller Alaskan mill, probably 24" or maybe 30". I have a 7900 and would prefer not to buy another, bigger saw right now. Can recreational milling be done with a 7900? How well will it work?

In the event that I decide to buy a bigger saw, are there any "sleeper" saws that would be good for the task that folks don't normally think of and therefore might be less expensive?

Recreational?? Have you ever used an Alaskan Mill? Even when you do it for fun, it's still tons of work....but I know what you mean. Have fun.

I started milling with a 372 and it worked ok in smaller stuff.
