thank you all for the encouraging words... I stopped worrying and started using the friggin saw yesterday...

I cut a couple of small trees, in the process made a couple of stupid noob mistakes because I was rushing to get as much done as I could before nightfall..

Saw performed great, I cleaned it, checked the fluids, sharpened the chain and stored it for today... Going to cut the smaller trees for the first couple of tanks before I start tackling the big ones...

Oh, and I realized why wedges are sometimes needed otherwise you can end up having to use a crowbar to get the saw out... :blush:
 
If you only have one saw you might want to have an extra bar and chain.
when you get the saw stuck .
