I stopped by one of the local pawn shops today and I think I may have found a winner for the most overpriced chainsaw ever:
I found a completely used up Stihl MS290 with a trashed bar, broken plastic, little-to-no compression (did the rope test, saw made a quick trip to the floor). Includes an extra chain, though. Price marked down, for a limited time mind you, from $450 to $425. The tag states that it is a "true pro saw that is used in the logging industry." Well, in that case, the $425 is a steal!
And I thought the $199 trashed MS210 with new b/c was a bad deal...but this price on the 290 beats it by a mile.
What are these people thinking? And who the devil actually buys these saws?
