Anode rods in OWB ??

So why aren't anode rods standard equipment in any OWB ? Too simple ? Too expensive for the amount of water in the tanks ? Would they literally take the place of the chemicals currently in use ? Seems a simple anode change would be quicker than a flush and re adding of chemicals..

Taylor uses them, don't know why others don't....
 
I'm hoping for a somewhat definitive response. There's gotta be a reason. It would be simple enough to add one for my particular application.
