has anyone installed a husky 346 Xp cylinder/piston kit on a 350 husky? I was thinking of port matching the cylinder base gasket to the cylinder and base. How do they run when compared to a 346?

Pfff, like Bill doesn't know how to find old threads. :)

Dury out on that one- he know how to find old saws though..... just short on the photos to match. ;)
He did put up some nice photos of some Stihls tha other day though..... maybe the Huskies are day dreams?

Ok I won’t ask anything anymore,,,,,,I’ll just be a lurker. I have eight vintage husky bikes to build, I need the cash for other hobbies.

I just wanted to know if a 350 is capable of running better with a 346 Xp piston kit. I’ll research here. Then it’s open port or closed port. I have options.

I posted lots of pics. I’ll post them again.

It is. It has been covered, talked about, posted about, pictures taken, in numerous threads on this forum and others. It's a great budget project. Where people struggle Bill here and in more of your topics is that the info is out there. Totally searchable. Dudes much more experienced that us have already done the leg work and cut a path for us. Let them shine!!

I think those of us who have been around feel as if it's a waste of our time to share as you ask questions, people answer, and then you tell how you'll do it differently or better. You've talked as though you know all things 2-stroke, it amazes me that you don't know whether the 350 is open or closed port since you have built all the motors you have built.
A quick search on the net will get you pictures and all the advice you need to build one and you will learn whether its open or closed port.
Here's the first thing that pops for me on my computer, it may take a bit more on yours to get similar results; but as Tim was saying the info is easy to find, and since I've looked it up before and watched the videos it pops right up.
Let us know how the build goes and if you have any specific questions and I'm sure you'll get the answers, but you need to just go for it and get your hands dirty, that's why I let others do them. Right Tim :D, yep I don't like to get dirty anymore than I have to.
Please report back what you learn :reading:.

I know the difference between open and closed port cylinders. I just asked if one was better than the other. I asked the gurus here questions.
