While I'm sure it's less than you do cause trimmers are a higher percentage of our sales than saws, we sell a pretty decent amount of chain, but with the exception of the 180's and HT units with the 61PMN less than 1% of our chain sales are green chain. I think we sell about 1 33RSC372 chain for every 150-200 regular 33RSC72. Heck I still have about 25-30 of those RSC3's on the shelf that came with a case package deal last fall on our fall order.

We stick RSC3 on almost all homeowner saws.. and it's a pretty good chain anyhow.. and sell a boat load of it as replacement chain.

So maybe it's put togther out of parts... Might even have an aftermarket cylinder on it. Be careful judging a saw bsed on a pic. I have a LIKE NEW 440 that has a serial number of 133xxxxxx, but I built it out of 3+ saws...

The guy lied to you once.. so just be careful...

Last Oct when I bought my MS660 dealer still had 1 new in box
066's for sale $50 less than a 660.

if i still had an 066 on the shelf i wouldn't have even considered stocking a 660 till that 066 was gone

There's not as much chainsaw usage down here anymore other than the tree trimmers :)givebeer: For Ropensaddle) and the firewood guys like me. Most of the loggers now have the skidder/felling vehicles and very few sawhands to justify keeping bigger saws in stock or the availability of a good used one. I've actually been suprised to find a few of the Stihl dealer actually keep the 660's in stock, with mostly 441 & 460's being the prevailing "big" saw.

Thanks for the heads up on that 066, I'll keep an eye on it and see what it does.

with the stihls i usually stock 1-660 28", 1-460 25" and 2-441's 25", 3/4 -361 20", 4-260 18", 4-280 18", 5/6 310-20" 4/5 290-20", 5/6 250 18" 2-230 16", 3/4-210 16", 3/4-180 14", 4-192t-14", 2-200T-16", 1-200 16", and about 2 each of the 250, 210, and 180 easy starts.

Not that you or anyone else really wanted to know what i keep in stock but oh well...:hmm3grin2orange:

I worked for a Stihl dealer once, that had new saws laying around every-
where, they had had major parts sold off of them, and then were tossed on a
back shelf. Some were worth reordering and reassembling, some weren't.
It doesn't take much parting out at full retail to get your money out of a
new saw...................
an 029
air filter cover-$24
air filter-
carb-
sprocket cover-
clutch-
sprocket & bearing
bar & chain-
rear handle $75
you can est. the missing prices

this one guy might have put a saw like that back together........

Dirt Bike Magazine did an article a few years back...If you bought a $3500 CR250 part by part it would cost over $8000...

On topic...I bought an 036 powerhead only one time...you will prolly have to have a relationship with the dealer.
