Thanks Ben. Should the insulator be quite white or a real light tan. I never saw one with the porcelaine completely exposed like that.
 
The flat below the mixture ring on that 2 stroke bike plug looks white....is it? Does the radius on the tip have any color? Have you done a wet oil line test on it yet?
 
The tip is of no value when reading plugs other than to tell you that uou heat rnage is correct. If the plug has agrainy texture thats called cement boil your plug is too hot.
Look at the pics I posted and it answers your first question. This is a bike plug BTW BPR8ES run in a cr 500.
