Hello all. I'm putting together another 039 saw. Cross cylinder, pop up piston etc. I'm curious is there a good carb for the engine or just use the one that came on my 029S. Read a bunch and I see people saying the 029 carb could run lean because jet size, seeing use 044 carb. I just want a proper running saw. Thanks

Another option is to order the larger jet that comes in the 039 carb and swap them out in the carb you have. They're threaded and removable.
Drilling out the one you have to the next size is also an option, but a very precision based one. If you plan on ordering a larger one then there's no reason to not give it a try unless the right size micro bits are inaccessible. You'll know if you go too large, the saw will start falling on its face under load.

Ya I can just change the jet I have to put gaskets in the carb anyway
