This tree is on our property, and we have always just referred to it as the "big maple"
It is way out in the woods of our property, and when we are describing directions to something in the woods that we are trying to find, we would say "go towards the big maple and take a left" or whatever, for example. You get the idea.
Its been dead for quite some time, it was struck by lightning and you can see one of the "branches" that fell from it years ago lying off to the left in one of the pics.
These pics were taken around 3 to 4 years ago, Im just uncovering them again and figured I would share. The boys in the pics are part of the boy scout troop that will come up and camp on our property.
