KYLogger
Professional Tree Assassin
So here is the story, in the process of selling all our logging and farm equipment, livestock and farm in the mountains of east KY. Moving back to South Florida and planning on continuing and solely pursuing our arborist business down there. I have a ton of experience on large equipment, dozers, excavators, skidders, loaders, tractors, skid steers etc.... I admittedly know practically nothing about mini skids. Our new place is just a house and small lot as of now. I am going to have to operate out of it for a while until we can find a shop or piece of land that suits us. Plans for now are a three man crew, one ton dump, pickup/dump trailer, and a mini skid to start out. I have been really running the numbers and comparing machines as best I can online. The 322D appeals to me for the price point. I have decided I want to run a 53" "Branch Manager" grapple and have some concern about the 322Ds weight capacity and pin height.
I am willing to accept the fact that it is smaller and less than ideal than a machine of a larger size for 10K more. However I still want it to perform. My question is; Will the 322D handle the aforementioned grapple and a decent size piece of wood to make it not totally useless? Also, anyone with any real world experience with one, I would love to hear. I also am considering some 600HD 2018 models left over new stock for just a few thousand more.....
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
