If you haven't got the torque to go with the HP/chainspeed it's really easy to bog a saw in hard/dense timber though.

It is of course not totally black/white - but that is mostly about high end torque, not low end torque. Basically, if you need low end torque you are either using a too small saw, or a dull chain - cutting speed will be slow anyway at low rpms.

One of the racers (a pro timber cutter) mentioned on another forum the other day that the under 77cc modified class here requires a light touch in the cut thanks to the timber mostly cut here.

Which is why I don't like a stock 371/2! :msp_mellow:
 
For the record, the best I've seen it here in NZ is $1345 including tax. That's about US$1035.
