Here you can see where I did a little porting on the transfer intake duct.

Squish after machining was a strong .020", right where I wanted it.

I check the squish on all 4 corners. This is partly to make sure the popup isn't too close to the edge of the combustion chamber.

I've found through testing that completely removing the baffler is the best way to go.

I will cut a new screen with more open space in it. If this weren't a daily work saw I'd also add gills to both sides of the muffler cover. In this case, I'd rather keep the volume down a little.

That's it for now. More to come later.
Why do you like to keep the volume down on a work saw?

Yes it has been a while.

It's been a longer while since folks could put up a build thread and not get trolled/attacked unnecessarily. It's kind of nice to finally get content without drama.

it's funny how that works aye. the queens who blamed everyone else for the drama leave and all the sudden no more drama. lol exactly what i had been saying all along. i kept reading everywhere a pop up was not the way to go and it made a saw slower. with this in mind it appears brad may have mixed up his before and after videos. saw is rip'n in the second vid so that must be stock  :D

Only after they made a big show about leaving for a month straight. Once they realized nobody cared, the music stopped. Lol.

I promised Brad yesterday I would give some input and vid on this saw I just got from him. It is impossible to represent the power of this saw without a much better sound pick up camera. But it is just awesome how this runs. And I had a Brad ported 461 as mentioned. This is another level.

I mentioned I had a huge uprooted hackberry to do today but I forgot my cam and was too busy to go back for it even tho all my work is usually a mile or two away. So after work I cut a few discs and had my gm video it and again, the video doesn't represent the way this saw cranks. I am extremely impressed and consider it $1300. very well spent. It tore up the big hack today and I left my 088 home.

I love a happy customer:clap: @treevet This saw will see commercial use by a long time arborist that appreciates a great saw.

Well, I wasn't going to say it, but since the mods are allowing it to continue, I guess I will reply. The posts that I've quoted represent what is still wrong with AS, even after all the so-called troublemakers left. Funny that the same guy who started a thread to remind people of site rules, is now breaking those same rules.

@svk read specifically rules 2 and 5. I followed the rules and reported the offensive posts, and was ignored by mods (big surprise ), so I'm posting it here. If you guys want this ******** to end, then it needs to come from both sides...

My intention here is not to start a fight, or ruin this thread, but simply to point out the glaring hypocrisy that is so prevalent here on AS. I won't post about this any more, and I will delete this post (if I'm even allowed to do so), as soon as the other posts are deleted.

Looks like you made some good gains on the 661, Brad. Good job.

As far as popup pistons are concerned, my only complaint is that it's a bit more hassle to do a future piston swap. I have a saw that has a popup and the base cut (which was done by Brad), and it runs awesome.

i apologize clint, thing is a bunch of guys **** talk me and many other members here on other sites and my only way to give them their own medicine is to do the same to them here. so i guess giving them a taste of their own medicine is hypocritical? i see where your coming from. had the **** talking not started elsewhere we wouldn't be in this mess. i don't take this internet so seriously like some so i admit i really don't give a **** if they **** talk me and i do do it just to get under their skin cause i know they can't take their own medicine. it's probably best to stop and just get along aye ;) anyways, like you; i won't post about it again. i apologize. i deleted my last post to not the mods. that was a drunk post last night. reread it this AM and realized it was ******* like lol.

And....there it is. The trolls return

Please enlighten me. If this place sucks so badly then why are you still here???????? Aren't there multiple other chainsaw related places on the world wide web to hang your hat?

BTW thank you for trying to teach me the rules. You just broke the "backseat moderator" rule, which is #3.

Have a nice day.

Or the banned members all put him up to raising crap over here...

I am through with this thread. Once one shows up to stir crap it won't be long before others follow.

What is wrong with AS is that some people don't know when to get lost. hint hint

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

I was not 'trolling', but simply responding posts made by you that were trolling. I am being civil, and you respond by calling me names.

If any of the mods had been courteous enough to respond to me, I wouldn't have posted in this thread.

Nobody put me up to anything. I can think and post for myself, thanks.
