Can anyone tell me what kind of wood this is?

I know this may be a little off topic but please bear with me

Im wondering what kind of wood this is. I found it as deadfall at the family farm. I cut up the dead fall for firewood and there is still one trunk standing. I cant seem to find any leaves around to help with my determination. I hope the pics help.

I'll wager two guesses on that, the first three pics look like red elm.

The last pic, where the bark is chipped away, looks very blonde, so I'd consider a variety of ash.

Did you find it hard to split with that axe? Looks like elm to me too.

Looks like Ash to me. It turns brown when it lays dead for a year or so unless it gets dried out right away. I found some in my woods like that. Doesn't smell as good when it burns, but it still burns well.

The bark in that last pic looks like ash, but then hard to tell by the other pics.
