I know this may be a little off topic but please bear with me:p

Im wondering what kind of wood this is. I found it as deadfall at the family farm. I cut up the dead fall for firewood and there is still one trunk standing. I cant seem to find any leaves around to help with my determination. I hope the pics help.

I'll wager two guesses on that, the first three pics look like red elm.

The last pic, where the bark is chipped away, looks very blonde, so I'd consider a variety of ash.
 
Because I thought maybe a different group of people may see in in this other forum. Next time I'll post a "crosspost warning"
