Mine is still 44mm top end with the side transfer covers. From what I read, that is the same top end the 2150 started with before it went to the 45mm (52cc) top end. I am sure they just did it to save $ in production costs, just as they later used the same top end for the 2150 and 2152 but in 45mm. They used different pistons in those models though.

2002??? We had mag cased 2150's, the soon afterwards were clamshells.

Sorry, but I believe your memory is a little off - the 2150 always was the Husky 350, which always was a plastic cased saw. Sort of a clamshell, but with a non clamshell top end, and a seperate bearing cap/cylinder base. Same case as the 345/2145 and 340/2141 - but those had true clamshell style top ends.

I remain curious as to how many other places the 350 bearing cap/cylinder base might fit.
There's got to be a clam shell somewhere that this piece would allow us another hybrid project.
If so, is there already another thread covering it somewhere?
