Chain recommendations.

Okay, so I have worked the bugs out of my 575 and I have a big job in mind. I have a pile of huge white oak logs up to 40" across and I want to cut them up for firewood. This stuff is rock hard and impregnated with dirt and sand all through them. The skip chain that came on my saw gets dulled up by the stuff pretty quick. Should I run a chipper chain? Also, should I run full skip or full comp. I think full comp on a 28" bar on a 575 might be a bit too much for such hard wood.

If you have the 3/8 chain with .050 width bar groove, you may want to try the Stihl RMF chain.http://stihlusa.com/chainsaws/types.html

Woodsman Pro 30SC or 30SCS would probably work fine.

Of course that would mean you would have to actually purchase a Stihl product.
