Saying you should’ve bought XXX isn’t helping the guy. Even the plastic homeowner saw should cut straight. Hopefully some of the good advice here will help him

I'm thinking his cutting technique is the problem, seen it before.
Try flipping bar upside down?
Take it South of the equator? Might be magnetic North pulling the chain.

Ols homelite sxl auto would do it to. Found out the guy sharpening chain, with file, would do same amount of strokes per side. Apparently the file bites off more on left side than right
Is this a brand new saw, or is it a reconditioned? It will say recon by serial number if it is. Reason is, we bought POULAN recons years ago and all the chains were in need of sharpening before we sold them. Recon saws usually look brand new. The were probably used as a free weekend rental and returned saying doesn’t work when all is was needed for one job
