I agree with you Mike. But it is described as a limb lowering device.
Two ropes to lower with? using a double sheeve pulley up top. Now that raises some interesting ideas. Also no moving parts (just alot of them)

I can't tell anything about it.  The website was designed in a fishbowl, and I'm on the outside looking in.  Would someone please describe it and what's supposed to be unique about it?

I too saw this "thing " in Pittsburgh. The only thing that I was ever so slightly impressed by was the fact that the ropes as they run thru the unit will not twist.
