Coil

I've got a Echo blower with a oppama coil that wont spark until its pulled over real fast without the plug in, real fast it makes good spark. This is a oem replacement coil, the first one didn't seem to spark at all but maybe didn't pull it over fast enough. I don't think I can pull it fast enough with the plug in to make spark as it wont start even with mix dumped down the carb. So whats going on, 2 bad coils or something to do with the flywheel magnets. I tried different air gaps also fron 4 to 12 thousands. Steve

Step back and assume that the coil is fine. And start over.

Its a PB580t and I don't think its ever been started, either I got a bad replacement coil or the flywheel is bad. Anyone ran across a bad flywheel? Steve

Have you checked the flywheel key? Did you buy it new? At an auction?

Bad flywheel key...broken off? They are laminated cores and shear easily. Spark-yes.... run- no
happened to me on an echo too.

Then dry it out, you may just be flooded.
