We fried an 044 a few weeks back, it was a lean sieze. The cause of the lean sieze was poor tune combined with running it too long and hard on a hot day.
I've got a new p&c, but I noticed when I stripped it down that the con rod bearings have quite a bit of play in them. The needle cage bearing in the small end was especially bad, you could lift the piston up and down on the rod a noticeable amount. I've ordered a new one. Not sure what a normal amount of play is for this bearing.
The big end bearing has a little play but nowhere near as bad. You can't lift it up and down on the crank, but you can jiggle it a little diagonally. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Shaun
