it's only good down to -4f with antifreeze. that means where i live, i would need to remember to empty all my saws during the winter months. if it froze it could damage the case. on the other hand, they claim that it works better for cutting poplar species. that would include cottonwood and balsam poplar which can really tear up a chain.
 
I tend to have more faith in because it's sold by Oregon then i otherwise would. That being said they do have alot to gain from people having to replace their bar and chains more often.
