I found a cylinder for an 064 mixed in with some other stuff I bought from a local shop. An area above the exhaust port, the width of the port and about 1/8" to 3/16" high is worn through the plating. Is it possible to use this cylinder?? The plating is not chipped and does not have any sharp edges. Other a shorter life would there be any problems with using this cylinder?? I tried to take some pictures, but it really doesn't show up very well.

I do no know how much a 084 or 088 cylinder cost, but you can get it re-plated for around 160-200 dollars.

Where? Most places I know of don't, can't or won't hone closed top cylinders.

Hmm, I talked to one of their technical guys back in October about doing some Mac jugs, he said no problem. I didn't ask about Stihl or Husky jugs but the Mac jugs would be far more difficult.
