Difference between 181 and 281/288 case

The 181 and the 288 will take the 54mm piston/cylinder. The big difference is the throttle lever that pokes through the case on the 181 the hole in the case is smaller so the 288 lever won't work wihout widening the hole abit, The intakes are the same as is all other parts are interchangeable. One more thing, the lower end of the original tank on the 181 isn't designed for mounting the big dog you see on the 288 with the spring but the tanks will interchange between cases.
 
So I could use a set of 181 cases to rebuild my 288 that has broken cases, all I would have to do is enlarge the hole where the throttle lever goes through?
