was wondering if 268 piston and 372
piston have same pin height and relatively
same skirt and pin diameter i don't currently
have a 372 piston to compare. and if all
things being equal would there be any
performance gain :givebeer:

Not sure, but the pin on 372 is larger if i remember correctly. The dont have the same bearing so the pin is probably different. What are you thinking, putting a 372 jug on a 268 ?If yes,you have to forget it ,it wont fitthe bolt pattern is different and the 372 cyl bottom would probably at transfer area larger than the the 268.

thanks.i know that won't work two different designs
in cylinders i wanted the 372 piston for the added
compression if it will work if not i'll acheive it by other
methods.had to ask thats how you learn, kinda like i asked
once about interchanging topends and cranks between
a 272 and 288 and machine work reqiured for a hot worksaw
one member suddenly thought i was cheating. i dont race.
anyway thanks :fart:

If you want increase compression, the easiest way would be to remove the cyl gasket or have the cyl base shaved. Both way,you have to be sure to keep at least .020 of squish. And doing that, you need to run with an extra port in your muffler to evacuate the additional heat caused by increased compression.

thanks i was planning on a muff mod and mild port job
btw what do you use to seal them up i just tried
some of the "right stuff" on an 044 i'm working on
