It IS hard to visualize what is being described sometimes. Especially on longer threads. What I said makes sense if we are talking spur sprocket. A rim sprocket should cause the chain to tightenas the straps pass over it also.

WRW right you are. Lots of things to think of when you start to mix and match components. You want to hear the crunching when someone puts new chains on old sprockets or vice versa on a bulldozer!
