I have a dogwood tree that is about 5 years old.I am interested in finding out what time of year is the best time to trnsplant it. Your response is much appreciated. Thank-You.

Dogwood

Dogwoods, in my expierience, transplant best early Spring ( early April). Measure the stem caliper(dia.), for every inch of caliper about 12inches of root ball is nescessary.
Be careful to keep it solid, a broken rootball could spell bad news for the transplant success.

I agree. I transplanted several dogwoods from my back woods to my front yard last spring or late winter and had great success. I would transplant your dogwood before the leaves open while it is still dormant . Be sure to water it adequatly. John
