I truly need some help with a rather large (15 foot) dogwood tree growing on the edge of my lilac tree.
I did speak to a nursery specialist about removal and I was told that if there is a good root ball made, it can be done and relocated to new spot.
Can anyone advise me further? I do not wish to harm either tree but clearly, the Dogwood tree is taking over the lilac bush...
Any and all advice is most welcome.
Thank you

Depending on the size, the lilac may be easier to move. They are more forgiving.

I would coppice the lilac this year in dormancy then dig and move it dormancy the one year latter.
