Mark,

I took a look at a 6000 last night. I think I have found you an option that will work and give you a reason to use that new lathe. I will dig deeper into it tonight but I believe my idea will work.

Thanks for all the imput guys!

I didnt know I had a 152 IPL but I did find it on the house computer, it was not on the shop computer that Chris and I were looking on Sunday.

It does show the 152 using the same setup as the Poulan 6000's that we have. What was baffling me was the fact that the books listed the same sprocket for all three, the 152, 153 and 166 which is obviously wrong unless a later 152 did use the smaller bore sprocket.

Then again, both of our 6000's are electronic ign which in my mind would make them a later model 152/6000?

I know that Chris stumbled on a 3/8 x 8 Herr spur sprocket for his and I was looking to do the same but dont hold out much hope now.

I'm trying to figure why they only went with a .404 x 8 on these originally, to me its obvious from what I ran mine that it dont have enough nuts to pull that sprocket with authority! It might be ok with a .404 x7 but I cant find one of them either.

I do have a nice 38" Dolmar bar now with a 3/8's tip so I still want to go to 3/8's on the saw but it looks like I'll have to see about getting one of these 8 tooth 3/8's spurs machined out to fit the 21mm bearing.

Any one need a NOS Oregon rim and drum set up for a 153 or 166? I know a guy who has one that cant use it.

Would this sprocket be of any use? It's the only Sachs Dolmar sprocket in my tub of sprockets.

I dont think so but would have to look again. I think that was the # of the sprocket that I originally got that was listed as 152/153/166 and it only had the 18mm bore. If I'm wrong I'll correct it.

The correct Herr # for the 152 is 361-A8, which I have found one by the way!!

Mark,

I am glad you found what you needed. In any event if you ever need another I will try to attach a picture of one that I modified from a Homelite drum. A few minutes on a lathe, a oilite bushing and you are good to go:msp_biggrin:
