I have an opportunity to get an Echo 500 vl from a volunteer fire department. It's almost never been used, and was recently gone through by a local mechanic and runs great. How much should I pay for it? I think I can get it for less than 75 dollars, hopefully only fifty. I would use it occasionally for firewood, along with my 262xp. Thoughts or advice?

yes, there was a recall on those from the flywheels grenading I believe. Seems to me some mention in the past here echo will still honor it and give you a "close" modern saw, but I have no knowledge of that, just a recollection from reading here..in other words, not sure what you would get, other than the recall is still open on their site

Numbers are here, scroll down to check

either way, nice saw for 75, or cooler saw for 75, go get a free new saw!

Want some good karma. Check the serial number and see if its in the recall. If it is tell the FD and let them get a new saw. If not then you get a nice firewood saw to go with that 262.
