Echo 650EVL coil mod??

A question to y######n another ign.module/coil from another brand of saw be machined or modified to mate up with the flywheel/magneto?Also could a coil by itself be put in the saw to replace he original coil? Why wouldn't it work? Do the coils all produce the same spark? I cannot locate an Echo coil anywhere.please throw your ideas on this topicmy way.I think a mod. coil would do it. Thanks.

Otherwise, as long as you can match or machine a different flywheel to fit the case and crank, the mating cdi module should work. You can make an adapter plate and then re-time the new ignition to the engine.

Another option would be to use an electronic points converter also called a Nova Universal Ignition module. Look at the bottom of the page, here is a link: http://www.jackssmallengines.com/ignition_b.cfm.
