I bought a CS-590 new-off-the-shelf just over two years ago. Recently, even with the air baffle in the correct position, it's been refusing to start in warm weather. It has no more than 10 hours of use on it, the air filter is in good shape.... How many hours should a sparkplug be expected to last?

What kind of gas have you been using?
Truefuel premix 50:1 cans mostly. There's been a couple times I ran pump gas mix but after running the saw with it, I'd dump the tank, run the line dry, then run the canned premix to flush out the residual corn-oil in the carb.

Ok. That would have been my first guess, bad fuel. A plug could go bad but usually not. First 2 places I would start would be fuel filter then check my tune. Never really had trouble with my 590s.
Heat can cause starting problems. I'm thinking the low speed needle needs some fine tuning, maybe the idle too. Try fallowing the instructions in this video and see if it helps, if you may have to dig deeper.
