Hello all:
The company I work for has a 350 that was brought to me to fix (I do all the sharpening and minor stuff) drenched in oil. It was even on the flywheel cover vents! I took the oil pump off and the rubber boot that directs the oil from the pump to the bar pick-up slot appears to be okay. I concluded that the pump housing is worn out and the oil must be coming out where the plunger goes into the pump housing right next to the nylon drive gear (which is dirty but not real oily). I would appreciate any comments as to whether I am on the right track to replace the pump.
BTW-where is the oil tank vented? Most saws I had in the distance past had vents on the fill cap--now they seem to be hidden somewhere Thanks
