Exhaust residue by decompression valve on 361

[Logjam]

Just noticed exhaust residue next to the decompression knob.
Very noticable on the plastic. Is this normal?
The saw runs like a champ. And keeps running stronger.
Not sure if I have to worry about anything.
Thoughts?

You might have a leak or it might be just the starting pulse (passes though the valve). Probably nothing to worry about. Check that it it tight.

There's a little bit of residue on all of my decomps. There is that initial blow-by that Andy mentioned. If it's more than a little, look into it. If not, don't sweat it.

I'll check it out to make sure it's tight.
Again, it runs fine. Just worried about it being too lean, like any 2 cycle engine. Especially heading into winter cutting.
