File into or out of the Cutter

Hard to tell in the pics but those look like some pretty extreme angles. Can you actually work with that thing? Or is that race only?

That would be a bit of a race chain!
Ground down rivets, lightened links, Big chip cannel, De-chromed?

I work with it about 4 to 6 seconds at a time.

Nah, just take a file and remove everything that doesn't look like a race chain.
In reality it takes a little research, and a lot of trial & error.

I was taught to file out, but after seeing this thread, I thought I would give filing in a try on an RSC chain. Couldnt make it work for me, too much chatter. I tried a light touch and still no go. I think I'll stick with filing out.

Sheesh out and one way not seasaw like I see so many doing
I can look at a chain and tell if it is sharp I remove all material back to a new non burred edge. If your burring your too deep with your file. I use my grinder for the most part but my free handed filed chains will out cut a new chain.
