Well it took longer than I wanted it to but I finally put the finishing touches on it Wed. night. Unfortunately all I have is after picks because the pics I had of the building process are on my old phone which decided to take a crap on Wed. night after I dropped it while working on the arch. I bought the metal from a local welding shop and ended up buying new spindles hubs and wheels. The tires are used from a Escort that we put new tires on recently in the shop and the winch is a used one that a friend had laying around. I have just over $250 invested plus some time. I get a chance to use it this afternoon if the snows not to deep where I'll be cutting. One thing I think I can see I might have to change is the height of the tongue. I must have miscalculated something when I was figuring on what the height needed to be. We'll see how it works before I tear it back apart though. :)

Looks good!

The chain locking tabs spaced out on top are a great idea.

I cannot tell from the pics - what is wrong with the height of the tongue?

I'm afraid once I get it hooked up to the ATV the tongue will be to low to the ground. It should be fine unless I try to move a big log. Like I said I'm going to try it out first before I go tearing it apart to extend the tounge.

If that is the case, wouldn't it be easier to mount a taller ball on the quad? I do realize that towing inline with the center-line of the quad rear axle is ideal.

Nice job. If you put a post and a pulley on the top front you could use that winch to lift the log up to chain it up. I would like to make a smaller one for my 4 wheel.

That's where I was confused. It looks good on the truck tho. :D

Had a chance to use the arch yesterday. We cut in my buddies timber because with all the snow we have on the ground we can't get into mine right now. Worked really well I don't think I'll have to do any fabbing to it.

It looks like a work saver, good job on it! I had an idea about something on it maybe...just a thought I had.

That's a good idea Woods Man. I think we are going to build one for my buddy now that he's used this one. I'll fill him in on your idea and see if he would like to try it. Thanks.
